Rock Eisteddfod Challenge
The Edible Classroom
Designing and building an outdoor classroom and garden. Students will be involved in the hands-on design and construction of the college kitchen garden. This will be a subject that can be joined on a term-by-term basis but would be most beneficial to run as a whole year commitment. Students will also plan a personal project, for example: welding gates/trellis/fencing, building compost bins/chook yard, irrigation needs and methods, soil testing, organic methods, tanks from nearby buildings etc. These projects have many aspects to them – design, fund-raising, engineering, creating, Food Technology, Science, Maths, English, SOSE and Technology. |
