The aim of the Dromana Secondary College Physical Education Program is to produce healthy, well balanced students, capable of coping with the demands of life by gaining the most from recreation time and through physical activity and instruction develop into responsible community members with an appreciation of health issues. It is hoped that through vigorous physical activity such qualities as skill, coordination, strength, mobility and endurance can be achieved.
The Physical Education program provides students with the opportunity to:

Develop confidence and competence in the acquisition of basic motor skills that will enhance participation in a wide range of physical activities.

Attain and maintain an optimal level of fitness for performance of daily tasks with control, efficiency and effectiveness.

Acquire knowledge and understanding of the human body, its development and functioning through the health and fitness curricula.

Experience the enjoyment and fun of participating in healthy, vigorous, imaginative and creative movement.

To develop a strong, well coordinated, flexible body.

Develop social skills and personal values through participation in movement both individually and in groups.

Acquire knowledge and appreciation of the health issues that challenge adolescents living in Australian society today.
