The Dromana Secondary College library provides a well-stocked, up-to-date collection of books, magazines, newspapers, charts, videotapes and CD-ROMs, to support both the educational and recreational needs of the whole College community. The teacher-librarians - Mrs Hillier, Mrs Cambridge, Mrs Stewart and Mrs Leschinski, staff the library which is open during school hours, as well as before school and at lunchtime most days.

The library provides students with access to 25 networked computers offering programs such as the Echo on-line newspaper index, as well as word-processing and internet searching. Students are also able to borrow a range of equipment such as video cameras, digital cameras and tape recorders to support their learning and preparation of assignments.
Special Programs
All Year 7 students visit the library regularly to take part in the Have A Book In Tow (HABIT) wide reading program. Students are encouraged to read from a variety of interest areas at their own level of ability, and are rewarded for their efforts with certificates and prizes. This unit is part of the English curriculum.

Year 8 students take part in a Reading and Research program (R&R), which also runs for the year. They spend one semester reading from a variety of types of resources, such as books, magazines, newspapers, poetry, and the other semester completing a research project of their own choice, while learning the steps involved in successful research. This skill equips them for research across all subject areas and at all year levels.
