Dromana College offers an opportunity to host international students for a short term from both Japan and Indonesia. Groups can vary in size from ten to thirty students at one time.
All of our international students are placed with friendly and caring host families in quality homes. Students have their own bedroom with a study area for completing homework. The food provided is plentiful and nutritious. Most importantly, students have a ‘family’ in Australia to help care and support them.
All members of the host family over the age of 18 years must obtain a Working with Children Check (WWC). Application forms for a Working with Children Check can be obtained from participating Australia Post outlet or from the college.
To apply for a WWCT please complete all required sections (Volunteer and Education) on the application form and submit your application form in person at a participating Australia Post outlet together with your original proof of identity documents (100 points) and a current passport size and quality photograph.
A Working with Children Check is current for four years and is at no cost to the applicant.
