NOTEBOOK & LEAP INFORMATION NIGHT
Wednesday 2 August 2017 in the Dromana College Basketball Stadium
6:15pm presentation for LEAP applicants
LEAP applications for 2018 opened on 17 July 2017. The Learning Extension and Acceleration Program [LEAP] is offered to a limited number of capable and committed students whose academic skills are above those of their peer group. LEAP students are presented with a challenging curriculum that allows them to investigate and explore topics in a classroom with like-minded students.
Enrolment into this class is only via on line application and testing of the students. Parents who are interested in this program can access the application via the Dromana College website at www.dsc.vic.edu. The LEAP transition teachers will be presenting at the Information Night on Wednesday 2 August 2017.
7:00pm presentation for recommended Notebook Device
At Dromana College, all students in the Junior School are expected to have a computer device at the commencement of Year 7 in 2018. Students benefit from a depth of experience that has developed within college with the use of a computer device. Students and all teaching staff at Dromana College use a personal notebook computer on a daily basis. In implementing the Notebook Program, the college believes that computers on their own do not enhance learning, but the use of computers in the classroom leads to positive changes in teaching methods that enhance student learning. The college will be presenting more information on the recommended device at the Information Night on Wednesday 2 August 2017.
