Wednesday 5th September Teachers Strike

Dear Parents/Guardians

We have been notified by members of the Australian Education Union that a number of their members will be taking industrial action on Wednesday 5 September 2012, in support of their enterprise bargaining negotiations with the State Government.  As a consequence, we cannot staff a number of classes and students in Years 8 to 11 are not required at school on Wednesday 5 September 2012.

Students in Years 7 and 8 who are involved in the school production are expected to attend a full day rehearsal in the theatre. 

A modified program for all other students in Years 7 will be provided, students will not be taught by their regular teacher due to the industrial action.

The following Year 12 classes will run as normal: Biology, Visual Communications, Food, Further Maths and Maths Methods.

The following Vocational Education classes will run as normal: Hospitality, Airbrush, Building Construction, Fashion and all Chisholm VETis courses.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience; however, we must ensure that we can safely care for students in our charge on Wednesday.
