Dromana College uses DayMap, a program that allows students and parents to access their daily program (using their individual logon) from home via the Internet or at the college. This includes a student’s individual timetable, any homework, projects and revision tasks set by their teachers in any of the subjects they do. Daily Bulletins, sport team selections, excursions, work requirements, grades and due dates are also available for each student. As a communication tool, DayMap has proven to be invaluable to parents also.
DayMap Parent Portal
Dromana College formally reports to students and parents on a semester basis. Monthly progress reports provide information on class attendance and overdue work. End of semester reports are a detailed summary of the main achievements and areas for improvement for students along with work habits. Reports are given for performance in assessment tasks and VELS levels in all subject areas for Years 7 - 10.
Although reports are produced formally at the end of each semester, assessment grades and comments are available through DayMap as soon as assessment tasks have been corrected.

Parent Teacher Interviews
There are opportunities for parent, student and teacher interviews following the distribution of progress reports. These are important occasions in the progress of students and in maintaining effective communication between the school and home. All parents and students are encouraged to attend.
Parents are also encouraged to meet with their child’s teacher outside of the scheduled Parent Teacher interviews to discuss individual learning goals and support for their child.
Parents can expect to receive notification in writing of camps, excursions, sport competition or any other event that will take students off the Dromana College campus, as well as some events which are conducted on site after hours. The notification letter will be accompanied by an Indemnity Form. This is a critical form for the college; we have a legal obligation to send this form out for each activity. The form serves two purposes: firstly it gives parents/guardians the opportunity to update any medical information relevant to their child; and secondly it provides us with your consent to render medical attention as required in the case of illness or accident whilst your child is on the activity.
We ask that parents complete the form by the date indicated and have your child return the form accompanied with the payment to the Administration Office.
The Daily Bulletin and other daily notices are read to students during Form Meeting every morning. The Daily Bulletin contains notices that may affect the students’ daily programs. Students also have access to the Daily Bulletin on DayMap.
